Become a Volunteer
Give your time at camps, clinics or the main hospital. Medical and non-medical roles are available. Since 1968, the Pakistan Eye Bank Society has served over 10 million patients, and work on this scale is carried by people who choose to serve.
Where Your Time Makes a Difference
PEBS runs its programmes across Karachi and in remote areas of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan. These are the initiatives where volunteer support matters most.
Eye Donation Movement
Pakistan’s first eye bank and corneal transplant programme has been built on public awareness and cornea donation campaigns. Over 30,000 eyes have been pledged locally and 16,000+ corneal grafts performed. Learn more on the Eye Donation page.
School Eye Clinic
Over 105,000 school children have been screened to date. The project’s first phase screened more than 60,000 underprivileged children across Karachi in one year, and its second phase, beginning in August 2026, aims to screen 120,000 more. Learn more on the School Eye Clinic page.
Teacher’s Training Program
More than 10,680 teachers have been trained to help identify vision problems in children early. Learn more on the Teacher’s Training Program page.
Medical Camps (Gift of Life)
Regular medical camps in remote areas of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan deliver free cataract surgeries, cardiac and diabetes checkups, lab tests, medicines and food aid to communities far from hospital care. Learn more on the Medical Camps (Gift of Life) page.
Community Outreach and Seminars
Seminars and workshops at the PEBS auditorium educate the public and patients on the prevention of major diseases, reaching thousands of men, women and children.
Medical and Non-Medical Roles
Volunteers serve at medical camps, at school and community screenings, and at PEBS Hospital in Shadman Town, North Karachi. You do not need a medical background. Both medical and non-medical roles are available, and the team will match your time and skills to where they are needed.
