Who We Are

Health sector is undergoing tremendous pressure with rising inflation since decades. The low income groups and those living below poverty lines do not have sufficient means to take care of their health issues. If we add the ratio of under-employment and unemployment then we note the severe financial burden on individuals and families specially children and elderly. Inflation, cost of medical services, medicines, utilities and economic conditions have added woes to common man's living standard. PEBS Hospital is, therefore, on the forefront to cater to the needy patients. All medical units – Eye, Dental & Maxillofacial, Dialysis, Oral Cancer Surgery, Breast Cancer, Diabetes and Cardiac are doing their tasks with a full dedication to serve public.

Community Outreach Program has now become our main signature activity. In May this year, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Rotary Club of Heidelberg-Schloss, Germany under which Eye assessment of school going children will be done to the tune of an impressive figure of 60000 students in a year. The team is tirelessly working hard to achieve the desired result. Along with the School Eye Clinics, our Teachers' Training Program adds value to this project.

Free Medical Camps under “Gift of Life” project continues to provide relief to people living in remote areas of Sindh. Completing two years, this important project has now become our flagship activity. Thousands of patients suffering from eye diseases and other health disorders have been provided with free surgeries, medicines and utilities with the possibility of always returning to PEBS Hospital for free treatment any time. Cornea Donation campaign which is our main highlight, got a huge enhancement when, according to her Will, we received the Cornea of our strong supporter, Ms. Zubaida Mustafa. She was a beacon of light during her lifetime and after death as well. Her cornea was successfully transplanted to a teacher who now teaches students and illuminates their future.

Oral Cancer Surgery Unit is now on frontlines due to its quality of medical expertise. Our good work has been noted by the government as well and soon we will partner with them on a number of areas to fight oral cancer. We are also working to reduce the impact of Breast Cancer, which is the number one killer in females. This Unit commenced functioning in 2025 and has successful surgeries and diagnostics to its credit. In the near future, we anticipate to add more facilities to serve patients.

I am humbled to say, that in any difficult situation, there has always been a silver lining. Philanthropy came out as winner to solve even the most difficult problems. Our valued Patrons reposed with full confidence on us enabling us to continue medical services at PEBS Hospital. I take this opportunity to pen my deepest appreciation for valued Donors and Patrons who are always standing at our side to help the needy in this trying time. We dedicate our success to their kind generosity towards their fellow countrymen.

It gives me a great sense of satisfaction that my association with Pakistan Eye Bank Society has developed into a strong long-term partnership towards health services. Since decades, I have witnessed the progression of PEBS excelling in all areas of community development. The team is, of course instrumental in embarking on projects leading to health care of patients specially the financially weaker ones.

Oral Cancer Surgery Unit is fast becoming a Center of Excellence and its expertise is being recognized at local and global level. I am highly appreciative of the state-of-the-art surgeries of this Unit, the number of which has now reached to around 400 this year.

The Dialysis Unit is providing quality Dialysis facility, free of cost to the patients who now come from far flung areas to take the benefit of high-quality care. The PEBS team performs every assignment with passion and dedication.
